Intersecciones: cuerpos y sexualidades en la encrucijada
Javier Fernandez Galeano

Results from DELPHI on the searches for SM and MSSM Neutral Higgs bosons
Javier Fernandez
Physics , 2003,
Abstract: These final results from DELPHI searches for the Standard Model SM Higgs boson, together with benchmark scans of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model MSSM neutral Higgs bosons, used data taken at centre-of-mass energies between 200 and 209GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 224inv. pb.The data from 192 to 202GeV are reanalysed with improved b-tagging for MSSM final states decaying to four b-quarks. The 95% confidence level lower mass bound on the Standard Model Higgs boson is 114.1GeV. Mass limits are also given on the lightest scalar and pseudo-scalar Higgs bosons of the MSSM.
Hodge structures for orbifold cohomology
Javier Fernandez
Mathematics , 2003,
Abstract: We construct a polarized Hodge structure on the primitive part of Chen and Ruan's orbifold cohomology $H_{orb}^k(X)$ for projective $SL$-orbifolds $X$ satisfying a ``Hard Lefschetz Condition''. Furthermore, the total cohomology $H_{orb}^{*,*}(X)$ forms a mixed Hodge structure that is polarized by every element of the K\"ahler cone of $X$. Using results of Cattani-Kaplan-Schmid this implies the existence of an abstract polarized variation of Hodge structure on the complexified K\"ahler cone of $X$. This construction should be considered as the analogue of the abstract polarized variation of Hodge structure that can be attached to the singular cohomology of a crepant resolution of $X$, in the light of the conjectural correspondence between the (quantum) orbifold cohomology and the (quantum) cohomology of a crepant resolution.
Vulnerability of state-interdependent networks under malware spreading
Rafael Vida,Javier Galeano,Sara Cuenda
Computer Science , 2013, DOI: 10.1016/j.physa.2014.11.029
Abstract: Computer viruses are evolving by developing spreading mechanisms based on the use of multiple vectors of propagation. The use of the social network as an extra vector of attack to penetrate the security measures in IP networks is improving the effectiveness of malware, and have therefore been used by the most aggressive viruses, like Conficker and Stuxnet. In this work we use interdependent networks to model the propagation of these kind of viruses. In particular, we study the propagation of a SIS model on interdependent networks where the state of each node is layer-independent and the dynamics in each network follows either a contact process or a reactive process, with different propagation rates. We apply this study to the case of existing multilayer networks, namely a Spanish scientific community of Statistical Physics, formed by a social network of scientific collaborations and a physical network of connected computers in each institution. We show that the interplay between layers increases dramatically the infectivity of viruses in the long term and their robustness against immunization.
Arquitectura en el Universo Online Arquitecture in the Online Universe Arquitectura en l'univers online

@tic : Revista d'Innovació Educativa , 2011, DOI: 10.7203/attic.6.336
Application and use of information technologies (IT) in the education and practice of architects is the main focus of this research. Since 2006, students and professors at the Architecture School of Granada have investigated in this field by means of the online collaboration platform CityWiki and metaverses. The purpose of this paper is to summarize some of the best practices and to describe the current state of development. The application of ITs to architectural practice and teaching offers a new professional scene that will be analyzed and discussed. Opposite filtrations, variations of Hodge structure, and Frobenius modules
Javier Fernandez,Gregory Pearlstein
Mathematics , 2003,
Abstract: In this article we describe three constructions of complex variations of Hodge structure, proving the existence of interesting opposite filtrations that generalize a construction of Deligne. We also analyze the relation between deformations of Frobenius modules and certain maximally degenerate variations of Hodge structures. Finally, under a certain generation hypothesis, we show how to construct a Frobenius manifold starting from a deformation of a Frobenius module.
Non-genericity of infinitesimal variations of Hodge structures arising in some geometric contexts
Emmanuel Allaud,Javier Fernandez
Mathematics , 2006, DOI: 10.1017/S001309150700017X
Abstract: We prove that the infinitesimal variations of Hodge structure arising in a number of geometric situations are non-generic. In particular, we consider the case of generic hypersurfaces in complete smooth projective toric varieties, generic hypersurfaces in weighted projective spaces and generic complete intersections in projective space and show that, for sufficiently high degrees, the corresponding infinitesimal variations are non-generic.
Topological equisingularity of function germs with 1-dimensional critical set
Javier Fernandez de Bobadilla
Mathematics , 2006,
Abstract: We focus on topological equisingularity of families of holomorphic function germs with 1-dimensional critical set. We introduce the notion of equisingularity at the critical set and prove that any family which is equisingular at the critical set is topologically equisingular. We show that if a family of germs with 1-dimensional critical set has constant generic Le numbers then it is equisingular at the critical set, and hence topologically equisingular (answering a question of D. Massey). We use this to modify the definition of singularity stem present in the literature, introducing and characterising topological stems (being this concept closely related with Arnold's series of singularities). We provide another sufficient condition for topological equisingularity for families whose reduced critical set is deformed flatly. Finally we study how the critical set can be deformed in a topologically equisingular family and provide examples of topologically equisingular families whose critical set is a non-flat deformation with singular special fibre and smooth generic fibre.
